MILWAUKEE — Rockwell Automaton has added five new members to its Machine Safety System Integrator program. Created in 2014, the program helps industrial companies identify system integrators with current safety standards expertise and a proven track record in designing safety systems.

“Our Machine Safety System Integrator program now includes 42 system integrators located around the world and specializing in a variety of machine types,” said Lee Lane, vice president, safety, sensing and connectivity, Rockwell Automation. “As the program continues to expand, industrial companies can more easily find system integrators in their area who know how to apply safety in a way that improves productivity and compliance.”

The five new members of the program include the following:

  • Frakes Engineering, a Rockwell Automation Recognized System Integrator located in Indianapolis, Indiana, specializes in machine safety, network security, modernization, vision and robotics. The company serves many industries, including water/wastewater, automotive and plastics.
  • Huffman Engineering, a Rockwell Automation Recognized System Integrator with offices in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Englewood, Colorado, acts as an extension of its customers’ engineering groups. The company specializes in design, documentation, panels, programming, testing, training and validation for many industries, including water/wastewater and life sciences.
  • JAE Automation, a Rockwell Automation Recognized System Integrator located in Kemptville, Ontario, specializes in pulling all areas of a plant together to form a cohesive automated plant system.
  • McRae Integration, a Rockwell Automation Solution Partner located in Toronto, Ontario, specializes in robotic automation, guarding and safety solutions, OEM process skid controls, brewing services and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • R&L Engineering, a Rockwell Automation Recognized System Integrator located in Albany, Georgia, offers control panel design, specialty machine builds and training across many industries including food and beverage, forest products, non-wovens/web handling, bioenergy and mining.

To be eligible for the Machine Safety System Integrator program, candidates must be current Solution Partners or Recognized System Integrators in the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork program with three to five years of machine safety experience. They must complete an intensive education and assessment process. Rockwell Automation also recognizes third-party certification from industry-accepted organizations, such as TÜV or exida.

After meeting these initial requirements, each candidate’s safety engineers complete training modules on topics such as global safety standards, risk assessment practices, and safeguarding mitigation and validation. Finally, each candidate must submit a machine safety project that is consistent with global standards.
