President Barack Obama announced two new research institutes to combine the expertise of universities and companies to create new manufacturing techniques and technologies.

President Barack Obama announced two new research institutes to combine the expertise of universities and companies to create new manufacturing techniques and technologies. The Detroit hub will focus on creating new metals, and the Chicago hub will be software-focused.
