HELUKABEL (Elgin, Ill.) has expanded its cleanroom-approved power and data cable product portfolio with the launch of it CLEANFLEX series, which are UL/CS-approved. According to the company, they come in both shielded and unshielded power and data cables, and are suitable for continuously-flexing, cable track machinery in cleanroom applications, such as semiconductor or electronics manufacturing. To prevent dust or other microscopic materials from damaging cleanroom machinery, the company has designed CLEANFLEX cables with a special polyurethane (PUR) outer jacket, which was rigorously tested and approved by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Techniques and Automation for meeting minimum particle emission requirements. Other features include:
- A flame retardant- and halogen-free construction, which is resistant to oil, UV and chemicals, such as solvents, acids, alkalis and hydraulic fluids.
- The ability to withstand mechanical stresses and alternating bending cycles, which helps them avoid tearing or abrasion, even at cold temperatures.
- An application temperature range between -40°C and +80°C.
- Sizes available from 20 – 14 AWG for the CLEANFLEX-HF cable, while the shielded HF-C comes in 20 – 16 AWG.
