Oshkosh Defense announced an $89 million order from the U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA). The deal is for new Palletized Load System (PLS) A2 vehicles, kits, and installs under the Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicles (FHTV) V contract.
The PLS A2 delivers a range of advanced technologies, including by-wire functionality to enable autonomous operation and active safety systems that increase protection and efficiency for soldiers operating in complex environments.
The capabilities are critical enablers for multi-domain operations and ensure sustainment across dispersed battlefields and contested supply lines. The PLS A2 open architecture supports future technology insertions that align with the Army’s transformation priorities.
Through the FHTV program, which also includes the Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) A4, the Army can leverage common militarized commercial components to lower lifecycle costs and integrate new and recapitalized variants efficiently.
Recapitalization enables the Army to accelerate delivery of critical capabilities to Soldiers by modernizing vehicles already in the fleet. Under FHTV V, the Army can procure vehicles until August 2029.
