Amber Road, a leading provider of global trade management (GTM) solutions, has announced that power management semiconductor solutions provider Fairchild Semiconductor is using Amber Road’s Trade Automation solution to remain compliant with country-specific trade regulations and pre-clear Customs while shipping more than 14 billion units a year across 45 countries.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Amber Road, a leading provider of global trade management (GTM) solutions, has announced that power management semiconductor solutions provider Fairchild Semiconductor is using Amber Road’s Trade Automation solution to remain compliant with country-specific trade regulations and pre-clear Customs while shipping more than 14 billion units a year across 45 countries.

In response to an increase in shipping volumes across more geographies, Fairchild expanded its use of the Amber Road global trade management solution, deploying it in thirteen countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, China, Taiwan and Malaysia.

With Amber Road, industry-leading customers like Fairchild can electronically communicate with Customs for quick and easy pre-clearance on all customer shipments worldwide as well as intra-company shipments of work in process. Companies can also quickly on-board new users.

“The ability to email shipment documentation to Customs brokers, freight forwarders and the customer before shipping goods significantly reduces delays, furthering our goal to be the pre-eminent supplier of choice for power management semiconductor solutions,” said Bob Scribner, director, Global Logistics & Trade Compliance, Fairchild Semiconductor. “Over time we’ve recognized the usefulness of Amber Road’s tools for other applications. Using the solution enables us to see where we could make additional process improvements.”

In its day-to-day operations, Fairchild uses Amber Road for country by country license determination, denied party checks, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and automatic generation of trade documents, which include commercial invoices, shipper’s letter of instruction, exporter of record, country of origin, and packing lists.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Fairchild and being an integral solution to their trade compliance process,” said John Preuninger, president and COO of Amber Road. “With the complexities of global trade today, Fairchild’s early adoption of export compliance continues to reap significant cost returns for the company.”
