Reading Bakery Systems Expands Oven Manufacturing Facility

The expansion, which is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2015, will double the existing Oven Works manufacturing facility to 38,000 square feet. The expanded facility will also include a 480 square foot, environmentally controlled paint booth.

ROBESONIA, PA – Reading Bakery Systems, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of baking and process systems, announced earlier this month it is expanding its oven manufacturing facility in Robesonia, Pa. to meet the increased demand for the company’s commercial ovens.

The expansion, which is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2015, will double the existing Oven Works manufacturing facility to 38,000 square feet. The expanded facility will also include a 480 square foot, environmentally controlled paint booth.

“Although we just opened the Oven Works manufacturing facility in 2012, the increased demand for our products has warranted another expansion,” said Joseph Zaleski, president of Reading Bakery Systems.

According to Travis Getz, RBS vice-president of operations who is supervising the expansion, the new facility will include three main areas: oven manufacturing, welding, fabrication and assembly; material cutting (metals and plastics); and a staging and storage area. Fourteen employees work in the new area.

The Oven Works facility was acquired to supplement the main manufacturing facility in Robesonia where RBS is headquartered. The headquarters facility was deemed too small to handle the quantity of work needed to meet demand, necessitating a move to a larger space.
