Meat Processing Facility to Open in Virginia

Seven Hills Food, LLC will invest $3 million and commit to purchasing Virginia-grown beef and pork. Once finished, the facility will be one of the largest beef and pork processing operations in Virginia.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe says a meat processing facility will open in Lynchburg, creating 43 new jobs.

McAuliffe says Seven Hills Food, LLC will invest $3 million and commit to purchasing Virginia-grown beef and pork.

Seven Hills Food will invest in the building improvements and equipment needed to renovate the former Dinner Bell Meat processing facility in Lynchburg. Once finished, the facility will be one of the largest beef and pork processing operations in Virginia.

The company intends to purchase 12,000 Virginia cattle and hogs over the next three years. The Virginia cattle, calf, and hog industries generate almost half-billion dollars alone in farm cash receipts.
