McDonald's customers in Amarillo, Texas, will soon need to specify which variety of fries they'd like with a hamburger.
The Twitter account for the fast food giant's Texas Panhandle locations on Wednesday sent out a photo of sweet potato fries in a McDonald's fry container, and the company confirmed that it will serve the new fries at Amarillo locations in order to gauge customer reaction.
The launch coincides with an initiative that allows patrons to customize their burgers using touchscreen kiosks.
McDonald's first introduced sweet potato fries last year at its locations in Australia.
The company also reported increased third quarter sales this week following menu and customer service changes, the first quarterly improvement in two years.
