LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (AP) — Wild Turkey has a new packaging operation in central Kentucky as part of a $100 million investment in facility upgrades for the bourbon brand in the past three years.

The bourbon maker is celebrating the opening of the packaging facility at its operation at Lawrenceburg. Company executives are being joined by state officials at the event Tuesday.

The brand's parent company invested $43 million in the packaging facility

The packaging operation will have a workforce of about 60. It will handle bottling and packaging capabilities for its parent company's U.S. brands that include Wild Turkey bourbon and SKYY vodka.

The Wild Turkey distillery hasn't had packaging capabilities since 2006, when its former owner shut down the facility at the Lawrenceburg operation.

Wild Turkey will open a new visitors' center next year.
