SOMERDALE, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey's favorite breakfast meat has now inspired a beer flavor.

Flying Fish Brewing Co. this week released a Pork Roll Porter beer.

The brewery says the dark brown caramel porter is made with pork roll and spices in the brew kettle. The beer's aroma features cocoa and hints of maple and smoke.

The southern portion of the state calls the processed pork product pork roll while up north it's referred to as Taylor ham.

The beer was released to celebrate the company's 20th anniversary and is part of its Exit Series of beers.

Flying Fish also released a beer inspired by the Pinelands brewed with foraged pine needles.
