ATLANTA (AP) -- Gov. Sonny Perdue has announced that a company that supplies parts for Kia cars plans to open a new plant in Georgia.
Perdue announced Thursday that Korea-based manufacturer Hanil E-Hwa plans to open the factory in LaGrange. The $8.45 million investment is set to create 173 jobs over the next three years.
The company makes automotive interior parts, including door trim and seats. It expects to begin production in October and will supply Kia Motors Manufacturing in West Point.
