Honeywell Gets $450M NASA Contract

Honeywell International Inc. said it won a five-year, $450 million contract for services related to NASA's research satellites.

PHOENIX (AP) -- Honeywell International Inc. said Wednesday it won a five-year, $450 million contract for services related to NASA's research satellites.

Honeywell said it will work with the Goddard Space Flight Center to extend the life of current satellites and test new satellite ground systems from launch to orbit.

NASA's research satellite program is designed to help with gauging natural disasters, climate change, mapping and other functions.

The contract runs through October 2016.

Honeywell shares rose $1.98, or 4.4 percent, to close at $47.03. They retreated 83 cents to $46.20 after hours.
