Jaguar Land Rover Building UK Engine Plant

Jaguar Land Rover is investing $560 million in a new plant in Britain to build low-emission engines that will employ up to 750 people.

LONDON (AP) -- Jaguar Land Rover is investing in a new plant in Britain to build low-emission engines.

The company said Monday that the new plant near Wolverhampton in central England will cost 355 million pounds ($560 million) and will employ up to 750 people.

Jaguar Land Rover is part of Tata Motors, which acquired the company from Ford in 2008.

Ralf Speth, chief executive of Jaguar Land Rover, said the company plans to invest 1.5 billion pounds a year over the next five years to develop and expand its product lines.
