LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- A federal workplace-safety agency has cited City Brewing Co. for 16 serious safety violations at its La Crosse brewery.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration says the violations include failure to comply with certain safety standards, resulting in workers being exposed to ammonia during the maintenance of pipe lines.
The company faces $108,000 in proposed fines. The company has 15 business days to comply with the penalties or appeal.
A message left with the company was not immediately returned.
The other violations include failing to make sure that employees participated in a safety program, failing to perform equipment inspections and not training employees in an emergency-response plan.
