Packaging Company To Build New Plant In Indiana

Printpack Inc. is building a new $52 million factory in southern Indiana that will replace one that is being shut down.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- A packaging company is building a new factory in southern Indiana that will replace one that is being shut down.

Printpack Inc. had announced in August that it would close its Bloomington factory, where about 150 people work. Construction has started on the new $52 million plant, which Printpack vice president Stephen Eastham told The Herald-Times would be completed.

The decision follows a vote last week by the Monroe County Council approving a $2.8 million tax abatement request for Printpack.
