FDA Expects Mylan Probe To Take A Few Weeks

FDA is investigating reports that employees at generic drugmaker’s Morgantown, W.Va., facility regularly ignored warnings about problems in the manufacturing process.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday it expects to finish a quality control investigation into drugmaker Mylan Inc. in the next few weeks.

The FDA is investigating reports that employees at Mylan's Morgantown, W.Va., facility regularly ignored warnings about problems in the manufacturing process. Mylan has disputed the reports, which came from a July article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Canonsburg, Pa.-based Mylan is one of the world's largest makers of generic drugs. In afternoon trading, Mylan stock added 3 cents to $13.51.
