Pfizer CEO To Lead Trade Group

Head of Pfizer Inc. Jeffrey B. Kindler elected as the board chairman of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the trade group said.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The head of Pfizer Inc. was elected as the board chairman of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the trade group said.

Jeffrey B. Kindler will succeed outgoing Chairman David R. Brennan. Brennan is the CEO and executive director of AstraZeneca.

Additionally, Sanofi-Aventis CEO Christopher Viehbacher was elected chairman-elect of the PRMA board, and John Lechleiter, the president and CEO of Eli Lilly & Co., was elected board treasurer.
