Canadian Firm Opening Assembly Plant In Georgia

Modular interior manufacturer DIRTT has announced plans to open a new 81,000 square foot assembly plant in Savannah, bringing up to 150 jobs to the area.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -- Modular interior manufacturer DIRTT has announced plans to open a new assembly plant in Savannah.

The Canadian-based company said it plans to build an 81,000 square foot facility this spring.

The site is located in Crossroads Business Park. DIRTT executives said the new plant could add up to 150 jobs in the next two years.

The company, which makes modular walls and floors, plans to make a formal announcement on Wednesday.

DIRTT is an acronym for "Doing It Right This Time."
