PITTSBURGH (AP) -- PPG Industries Inc. plans to build its first manufacturing plant in Russia.
The Pittsburgh-based paints, glass and chemicals maker said Thursday it has signed an agreement with the administration of the Kaluga region to build an automotive and industrial coatings plant about 45 miles southwest of Moscow.
The plant will be fully owned by PPG and employ about 70 people, said Bill Wulfsohn, PPG senior vice president for coatings.
The company has more than 150 manufacturing plants and equity affiliates, and operates in more than 60 countries.
