ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- State economic development officials say a company that makes fabric used in protective body armor plans to locate a weaving operation in Anderson, creating 45 jobs in an industry that has been cutting jobs.

Life Stone Materials LLC will invest $5.5 million to open a weaving operation in a former manufacturing plant by July, according to a news release from the state Commerce Department.

A joint venture of Point Blank Solutions Inc. and FMS Enterprises Migun Ltd., Stone Life Materials will weave fabrics used in body armor for the U.S. military, federal agencies and state and local law enforcement.
