NEW YORK (AP) -- Deere & Co. said Wednesday that it plans to establish a European technology center in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

The facility, which is expected to be operational in the spring of 2010, will employ up to 200 engineers who will develop and apply technological advances for European customers.

The center also will provide engineering support for Deere's work in intelligent mobile equipment technologies and agricultural management solutions.

The company did not release a cost estimate for the project.
