RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- A manufacturer of portable water pumps is moving its headquarters and manufacturing facility to the town of Hillsville, Carroll County, creating 125 jobs.
Governor Tim Kaine says AmeriPumps will invest $4.6 million for the relocation from Chattanooga, Tennessee. The company will assemble, ship and service water pumps throughout North America and the Western Hemisphere.
AmeriPumps products are used in the construction and mining industries, hurricane recovery and aboard ships and boats.
Kaine approved $150,000 from the Governor's Opportunity Fund for the project. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission also approved $100,000 in funds for it.
