On Friday, UPS announced it would offer weekly retention bonuses to package handlers who were hired in 2017.
According to a report from Lousiville Business First, workers will receive a $150 bonus per week if they were either hired in 2017 to work in UPS's Second-Day Air operation or hired after March 13 in UPS's Ohio Valley District ground operation.
This bonus will also increase to $200 per week in the fall and applies to employees hired on or after October 1 in the UPS Next-Day Air operation.
UPS plans to hire 750 new part-time package handlers just in time for the holiday season.
The UPS Worldport facility in Louisville employs about 10,000 workers and is one of the largest local employers in theregion.
