ITT Corporation Adding 2,700 Jobs In Utah

Aerospace company says it will expand operations in Utah and potentially bring 2,700 new jobs to the state over the next 15 years.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- An aerospace company says it will expand operations in Utah and potentially bring 2,700 new jobs to the state over the next 15 years.

ITT Corporation Vice President Jim Barber says the company, based in White Plains, N.Y., will increase manufacturing positions for their aircraft materials plant in Salt Lake City.

Barber says the company plans to invest $120 million in the project. Work will begin this summer and could create 500 jobs immediately.

State officials have approved up to $33 million in tax incentives for the company, based on specific goals for job creation and capital investment.

Gov. Gary Herbert says the expansion is a reflection of the state's business-friendly environment.
