RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- A company that makes wire and cable products plans to open a new plant in Tarboro, creating about 115 jobs.
Gov. Bev Perdue said Thursday the plant for Superior Essex Inc. will be the company's second operation in Tarboro. Superior Essex is expected to spend about $58 million on the new plant.
The Atlanta-based company makes power cables for commercial, industrial and utility markets.
The average salary for workers at the new plant will be more than $41,000 per year. The average salary in Edgecombe County is just over $33,000.
