Swedish wireless equipment maker LM Ericsson says it is cutting 450 jobs in Stockholm and Goteborg as part of a reorganization.

STOCKHOLM (AP) -- Swedish wireless equipment maker LM Ericsson says it is cutting 450 jobs in Stockholm and Goteborg as part of a reorganization of its regional and administrational structure.

The jobs are mainly within sales and administration, with 400 of them in Goteborg and 50 in the Swedish capital. Negotiations with unions have already started.

At the same time, the Stockholm-headquartered group said in Wednesday's statement that it needs to hire around 250 engineers within its research and development area to help develop 4G mobile technology, Long Term Evolution, or LTE.
