Daehan Workers File Hazardous Workplace Lawsuit

Employees of Daehan Solutions have filed suit accusing the Hyundai supplier of operating a hazardous workplace because of chemicals in the air at the Alabama plant.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Daehan Solutions employees have filed suit in Lowndes County accusing the Hyundai supplier of operating a hazardous workplace because of chemicals in the air at the Alabama plant.

The 93 workers filed the suit Wednesday against Daehan and 28 other defendants. The plaintiffs allege that they were harmed because the defendants allowed the plant to become filled with hazardous chemicals and covered up the problem by reassuring employees that the plant was safe.

They also say they were injured on the job and had to pay medical expenses for their injuries.

Officials at Daehan were unavailable Wednesday. Lawyers for the plaintiffs declined comment. Affidavits filed with the lawsuit say the workers signed on as long ago as March and others recently agreed to join the suit.
