TORONTO (CP) -- Automodular Corp. has a renewed two-year agreement for its Oakville-area workers represented by the Canadian Auto Workers union, the automotive services supplier announced Tuesday.
No details were released by the company but it said the contract provides improvements in wages and benefits.
Automodular is a supplier of sub-assembly, sequencing, transportation and logistics services to three auto manufacturing plants in Ontario and Ohio.
The company has four operating facilities and employs approximately 600 people.
Automodular said Tuesday it looks forward to working closely with the CAW "to ensure continued delivery of defect-free automotive modules to the Ford Oakville Assembly Plant at a competitive cost."
Ford's Canadian subsidiary has asked the CAW to match recent concession-filled labour deals that the union reached with Chrysler and General Motors in order for them to obtain billions of dollars of government financial assistance.
Ford Canada employs about 7,000 people at assembly plants in Oakville and St. Thomas and a parts plant in Windsor, Ont.
