DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Duluth-based plane manufacturer Cirrus Design Corp. says it does not plan any more large layoffs.
Cirrus this week laid off 75 employees at its Duluth plant and 30 workers in Grand Forks, N.D.
The latest round of layoffs leaves 872 employees working in the company's Duluth plant and 233 in Grand Forks, for a total employment of 1,105.
President and Chief Operating Officer Brent Wouter says the layoffs were "more targeted" this week, compared with across-the-board layoffs in early September.
Wouter says no further large reductions in numbers of employees are contemplated. He says the plants in both cities will continue to work four-day weeks of 10-hour days. The company had considered going to three-day weeks, but that is not on the table now.
