Chrysler Recalls 300 Workers In Indiana

United Auto Workers local president Rich Boruff says about 300 workers are being recalled to jobs at Chrysler's transmission factories in central Indiana.

KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) -- About 300 workers are being recalled to jobs at Chrysler's transmission factories in central Indiana.

United Auto Workers local president Rich Boruff says 175 people returned to work at the Kokomo plants on Monday, with about 140 more scheduled to return on March 22.

Boruff says production is increasing at the factories as new Chrysler owner Fiat switches to using more six-speed transmissions.

Chrysler had more than 4,600 workers at its four Kokomo plants before its bankruptcy filing last year.
