ERIE, Pa. (AP) -- Officials with the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority say a long-term deal with a New Jersey firm should put more than 100 Erie shipbuilders back to work.
Ray Schreckengost, who directs the authority, says the new deal is with DonJon Marine Co. Inc. of Hillside, N.J.
Schreckengost says a deal should be signed Wednesday that will make more than 100 workers at the port who were laid off by Erie Shipbuilding in January employees of the New Jersey firm.
Officials with DonJon Marine have not commented on the deal.
Port authority officials haven't released terms of the new shipbuilding deal.
