Restaurant Equipment Plant Laying Off 190

About 100 of those being laid off are production workers at Lincoln Foodservice Products, in Fort Wayne, Ind., with the others being salaried workers.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) -- A restaurant equipment maker plans to cut 190 workers from a Fort Wayne factory in the coming months.

About 100 of those being laid off are production workers at Lincoln Foodservice Products, with the others being salaried workers.

The human resources director for Lincoln Foodservice's parent company says that production is part of a division that it is selling. Dennis Rooney of Wisconsin-based Manitowoc Co. says 50 to 70 employees will still make conveyor ovens at the Fort Wayne plant at least through next year.

The company says the job cuts are to start in February and be completed by June or July.
