DETROIT (AP) -- Canadian Auto Workers President Buzz Hargrove says he expects Chrysler and General Motors to agree to new contracts similar to a recent deal with automaker Ford.
Hargrove said Wednesday he expects to have all the deals wrapped up before the CAW's bargaining convention starts June 10.
The three-year contract with Ford still must be ratified by the CAW's 8,000 Ford members.
Hargrove says the deal keeps Ford's labor costs the same as they are now but prevents a lower-tier pay rate for new hires.
Chrysler said in a statement it is evaluating the deal.
And a message left with a GM spokesman was not immediately returned.
