Flexsteel Cuts Jobs Again

Company has cut 10 more jobs since it laid off 21 hourly employees and some office positions at its Dubuque, Iowa, plant in June.

DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) -- Flexsteel Industries Inc. has cut 10 more jobs.

A company official and a union representative have confirmed the cuts.

In June, Flexsteel laid off 21 hourly positions at the plant along with some office positions. At the time, the company cited economic pressures and high gas prices as factors for the cuts.

The hourly work force at the company's Dubuque plant has dropped from about 650 employees in 2000 to about 200.
