Simpson Negotiating Labor Contract With Calif. Plant

Connector and venting system producer says work may stop briefly as it works to renew labor contract at facility in Stockton.

NEW YORK (AP) — Simpson Manufacturing Co., which makes connectors and venting systems, said Wednesday it is negotiating a labor contract renewal at a facility in Stockton, Calif.
 
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Simpson Manufacturing said there is a chance work could be suspended briefly at the plant. The company said it doesn't anticipate a possible pause in production to materially affect its sales or profits.
 
Shares of the Pleasanton, Calif.-based company fell 89 cents, or 2.7 percent, to close at $32.41.
