Nineteen organizations have been selected to receive grants to encourage young people into manufacturing careers.

The grants are awarded jointly by the Illinois-based Fabricators and Manufacturers Association Foundation and the Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs Foundation, co-founded by Made in America host and former Cheers star, John Ratzenberger.

The grants provide not-for-profits and educational institutions that offer overnight or day camps to students between 12 and 16 careers in manufacturing and engineering. The awards are between $2,500 and $5,000.
