Extech Instruments (Waltham, MA) has developed the new EX840, the first-ever 1000A CAT IV clamp meter with built-in infrared thermometer with double-molded housing. The EX840 features non-contact IR temperature measurements with a laser pointer. Other features include:
- Measurements of AC/DC voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode, and continuity.
- A 1.7” (43mm) jaw opening for conductors up to 750MCM or two 500MCM.
- A 4-digit, 4,000-count blacklit display.
- A complete test lead set, a 9v battery, Type K probe (-4 to 482°F/-20 to 250ºC), and a belt holster.
