Linear Bearings That Won't Break

Thomson (Wood Dale, IL) introduces the RW64-V RoundWay Linear Roller Bearing, a 4” version with a dynamic load capacity of 70,000 lbf (310,800 N), more than 20 times the load capacity of a conventional linear ball bearing. The RoundWay can carry that load even at operating temperatures up to 500°F and speeds up to 100 ft/s (68mph).

The RoundWay can carry that load even at operating temperatures up to 500°F and speeds up to 100 ft/s (68mph). The chain-link rollers allows use in contaminated applications such as metal removal or paper and wood processing, for example—any application where metal chips, paper flour, wood chips, and abrasive dust would be an issue. The all steel and iron construction allows for the extreme operating temperatures. A lateral self-alignment feature means that RoundWay bearings may be out of parallel as much as 0.1875”, which makes them well-suited for use in gantry systems where parallelism is required.
