Rockwell Automation (Anaheim, CA) has announced a series of products and enhancements to provide closed- and open-loop drive control on EtherNet/IP with Integrated Motion. Users can now control the Allen-Bradley Kinetics 6500 servo drive and PowerFlex 755 AC drive on EtherNet/IP using Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) and CIP Sync technology, in addition to the RSLogix 5000 software. The EtherNet/IP drive support also eliminates the need for a dedicated motion network and allows high-performance drives, I/O, smart actuators, and any other EtherNet/IP-connected device to be supported on a common network.
