ABB has added an 8 kilogram model to its IRB 360 FlexPicke line, in addition to the existing 1kg and 3kg models, to expand the high-speed picking and packing performance of its Delta robot into markets with heavier items. The 8kg version has been re-engineered to handle higher payloads.

ABB (Auburn Hills, Mich.) has added an 8 kilogram model to its IRB 360 FlexPicke line, in addition to the existing 1kg and 3kg models, to expand the high-speed picking and packing performance of its Delta robot into markets with heavier items. The 8kg version has been re-engineered to handle higher payloads, including a redesigned carbon fiber arm-set, a new delta plate for larger weights and inertias, plus improved motion tuning. Additional features include:

  • The ability to handle more products per cycle because of multi-product pick compatibility.
  • The ability to handle up to 500 products per minute.
  • Compatibility with wash-down applications due to a hygienic design, plus better conveyor tracking performance.
  • A stainless steel, IPK69-rated model that withstands the most stringent cleaning operations associated with sanitary product handling.
