Fired Man Attacks Co-Workers With Fire Extinguisher

42-year-old Eddie Robinson Jr. of Albany was arrested for assault Thursday, a day after the four workers were attacked at the GlobalFoundries site in Malta, N.Y.

MALTA, N.Y. (AP) -- Police say a man fired from his job at an upstate New York computer chip plant construction site has been charged with assaulting four former co-workers, including one hit in the face with a fire extinguisher.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office tells local media that 42-year-old Eddie Robinson Jr. of Albany was arrested Thursday, a day after the four workers were attacked at the GlobalFoundries site in Malta.

Authorities say Robinson had recently been fired from his job as an electrical worker by one of the subcontractors at the site.

Three of the injured workers were taken to local hospitals. Their conditions weren't available.

Robinson was charged with assault. He's being held in the county jail on $50,000 bail. Prosecutors say he doesn't have a lawyer as of Thursday afternoon.
