Regal Beloit Corp. said Friday that Peter Underwood was appointed vice president, general counsel and secretary of the company effective Sept. 27.
The Beloit, Wis.-based electrical equipment manufacturer said Underwood will be responsible for all legal activities and will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Henry Knueppel.
Underwood was previously a partner with in the Milwaukee office of Foley & Lardner LLP, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, securities law and corporate governance.
Regal announced earlier this month it purchased Netherlands-based electric motor seller Rotor B.V.
