Wise Alloys Gets Anheuser-Bush InBev Contract

Aluminum company’s plant in Alabama will supply Anheuser-Bush InBev with metal to produce cans for its beverage business.

LISTER HILL, Ala. (AP) -- Wise Alloys has signed a multiyear contract with Anheuser-Bush InBev.

The Colbert County plant will supply the company with metal to produce cans for its beverage business.

Company officials said the contract begins Jan. 1. Part of the agreement calls for Anheuser-Bush to supply the local operation with scrap metal for the project.

It was not immediately known how many workers will be added to the Wise operation. Plant Manager Phil Tays said the company has already rehired all workers who were placed on a recall list following workforce reductions in recent years.

There are about 800 workers at the site.

Terms of the contract were not immediately released Tuesday.
