Getting a Head
3DP, a 3D printing startup out of Roscoe, IL, invited us to the Land of Lincoln to check out the 3DP1000, a new large format, completely open source 3D printer.

The 3DP1000 prints a meter wide and half a meter tall with layer resolution down to 70 microns, but what I find most intriguing is that it is an open source machine, which allows you to choose your own software, material, and control platform preferences.

Tiny Drone Fits in Your Palm
This week Las Vegas is hosting the annual International Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, attracting major auto, aerospace, and consumer electronics companies from around the world, as well as many startups, looking so showcase their new technology.

It comes as no surprise that drones are big this year - They were even given their own space at the show called the Unmanned Systems Marketplace. One of the most unique drones featured at the show is able to fit in the palm of your hand. The British technology firm, Torquing Group showcased their photography and HD video nano drone called Zano.

Mercedes’ Futuristic Self-Driving Car
Lots of new technologies and innovations were displayed this week CES. However, few were more impressive than Mercedes’Benz self-driving F015 Luxury in Motion. Living up to its name, this car looks like something out of a science fiction movie.

The lounge-like interior feature a variable seating system with four rotating chairs; The electrically powered seats also turn outwards by 30 degrees when the car doors open, for easy exit.
