At the MIT Biomechatronics lab, professor Hugh Herr is creating robotic prosthetics that mimic the functions of real limbs, leading to a new bionic age. A mountaineering accident that cost Herr both of his legs served as the inspiration behind his work. Now he's trying to advance technology not only for himself, but for the benefit of others.
