ProPublica and NPR recently released a joint investigation that had some startling results. It found that workers compensation benefits and access to such benefits has been drastically reduced as of late, benefiting employers and insurance companies. The report compares all the states and the cuts experienced over the past thirteen years. One state that seems to face particular scrutiny in the study is Florida, as it was found that workers compensation has decreased by 65 percent in the past two decades.
