A Car You Can Count On

This story of a man and his 1957 Chevrolet Truck seems to lend credence to the theory that cars of the past were made sturdier than cars of the present. This half ton truck has carried him to and from work until retirement, and even though it is a bit rusty now, it sounds like a car you can count on.

The automotive industry seems to be plagued by news of recalls, whether it was the near constant barrage of news related to the Takata airbag recalls splashed across the headlines, the GM ignition switches, or just the seemingly daily announcements of one thing or another wrong with your car. One can’t help but ask themselves, are the cars of today simply designed and constructed in an inferior way to how they were in the past? Or are stricter regulations to blame for the startling amount of recalls?  I’m not entirely sure, but this video of a man and his 1957 Chevrolet Truck seems to lend credence to the theory that cars of the past may be sturdier. This half ton truck has carried him to and from work until retirement, and even though it is a bit rusty and worn out now, it sounds like a car you can count on.
