China Bows to Chemical Plant Protesters

Authorities in Dalian, China, closed a chemical plant due to the demands of protesters who were afraid of a possible spill. The protesters were middle-class urbanites, and some experts think that the middle class’ involvement caused a different reaction from authorities and influenced them to cave the protesters’ demands.
