'EPIC' Solution

Accenture has built a software-based solution called Enterprise Product Information and Content (EPIC), which is an application of Microsoft’s Discrete Manufacturing Reference Architecture.

Accenture (Dublin, Ireland) has built a software-based solution called Enterprise Product Information and Content (EPIC), which is an application of Microsoft’s Discrete Manufacturing Reference Architecture.  This architecture encompasses a broad set of Microsoft technologies, such as Sharepoint, SQLServer, and Siliverlight, and specifies how Microsoft technologies can be applied to the discrete manufacturing value chain. Accenture’s EPIC solution is a prime example of how DIRA can be applied to solve a business problem. In this case, the solution simplifies search and data access to a PLM engineering system enabling engineers and extended PLM teams to pinpoint the specific information they require without having to navigate the underlying system complexity. Simultaneously, the solution allows engineers to promptly and securely have what they need at their fingertips—on one screen.
