Victaulic (Easton, PA) announces the extension of its line of Advanced Groove System (AGS) couplings for faster and easier installation of large-diameter piping systems. Rigid and flexible couplers with AGS technology are now available in sizes up to 60” in diameter. Typically, a large-diameter joint requires several hours of welding to install, but the AGS couplings can reduce that time to less than an hour, according to the company. Features include:

  • A two-piece housing and a wedge-shaped groove that delivers pressure ratings up to 350 psi (2,400 kPa) depending on the pipe size and wall thickness.
  • Lifting lugs for added convenience when hoisting individual housings.
  • A union at every joint for easy access to the piping system for maintenance and system retrofits.
  • A visual confirmation of proper assembly, with metal-to-metal contact after torque requirements have been met.
